Keep called-up Peasants fighting through combat orders, then return individual workers or the whole cohort to work.
Research Defend to halve physical-missile damage to Footmen at the cost of movement speed.
Assign Peasants to heal survivors at Human halls, Houses and Chapels; research Field Medicine to tend them in the field.
